Actor Rupali Ganguly asked her fans, followers and social media influencers to stop their travel bookings for Turkey. The ‘Anupamaa’ actor was speaking amid India’s Operation Sindoor against terrorist centres in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. While many countries stood with India in its fight against terrorism, Turkey and Ajerbaijan showed their support for the other side. A report in India Today suggested that Turkey helped the Pakistan Army plan an attack on India and also supplied 350+ drones and military operatives during their escalation.

Ganguly, who’s also a BJP member, shared a small note on X. She wrote, “Can we please cancel our bookings for Turkey? This is my request to all Indian celebs/influencers and travellers. This is the least we can do as Indians. #BoycottTurkey (sic).”

The actor’s plea comes days after she criticised actor Fawad Khan for writing against India’s precision strikes on terror camps. The 48-year-old told Khan that his association with Bollywood was ‘shameful’ for the Indian film industry. “You working in Indian films was also ‘shameful’ for us (sic),” she said on X.

She later went on to tell her Pakistani followers that she doesn’t care about being ‘unfollowed’ by them. She lashed out at them, asking them to worry about terrorism being sponsored and nurtured by their country instead.

“Unfollowing me won’t bring any betterment to your country. First, ask your government and army to stop terrorism against India, this will be the only way for the betterment of Pakistan. Your following or unfollowing may make a difference to an artist but not to an Indian. And I’m an Indian first. A Proud INDIAN. Jai Hind Jai Bharat (sic).” she posted on X.

Ganguly is known for her performance in the Star Plus show ‘Anupamaa’. She has joined the likes of Hina Khan, Aly Goni, Karanveer Mehra, Karan Kundrra, Munawar Faruqui, Kishwer Merchant, and Krystle D’Souza, among others, who raised their voices against Pakistan-backed terrorism, and India’s precision strikes as response to the ghastly Pahalgam attack of April 22 that claimed 26 innocent lives.
