Now, the NLF star’s father, Ed Kelce, has shared some details from the magical proposal.

Travis Kelce’s father, Ed Kelce, appeared for an interview with ABC News 5 Cleveland and shared the details from the magical proposal. The NFL star’s dad revealed that Travis and Taylor had been engaged for a fortnight before they made the official announcement. For the unversed, Taylor announced her engagement to Travis in a fairytale-like post on August 26, 2025. However, the duo had been engaged for days before that. According to Ed, Travis got on one knee on August 10, 2025. He was quoted as saying:
“Travis actually did the proposal, oh, maybe two weeks, not quite two weeks ago. He was going to put it off till this week. I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off till this week, too, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event. And I told him repeatedly, you know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event…when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you.”
Travis Kelce proposed to Taylor Swift at Lee’s Summit. The beautifully decorated proposal was nothing less than magical. Ed Kelce further revealed that Travis had taken Taylor out for a glass of red wine. He added that soon after the proposal, he called his mother, Donna Kelce and Taylor’s parents, Scott and Andrea Swift. He was quoted as saying:
“He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘let’s go out and have a glass of wine’, they got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful. They started FaceTiming me and their mother, as well as her parents, to make sure everybody knew. So, to see them together is great.”
Recalling how the revelation wen’t down, Ed Kelce revealed that he was at a public practice for the Eagles when he received the call. He shared that as soon as he saw it was Travis calling him, he knew he had popped the question. He was quoted as saying:
“I was at..an Eagles practice, a public practice that they had a lot of people that, well, the Eagles had 60,000 people at a public practice two weeks ago on a Sunday night. So at that practice … I got a FaceTime call from them, and as soon as I saw the FaceTime, I saw it was Travis, and then I saw Taylor there with him, I knew what they were going to say, and they, you know, let us know.”
