    Kneecap Cancel U.S. Tour

Kneecap have canceled a soldout, 15-date tour of the United States, citing the shows’ proximity to Mo Chara’s next court appearance on a terror charge. Four Canadian shows—two in Toronto, two in Vancouver—are set to go ahead, as are their European dates. Find their current itinerary, with the canceled dates crossed out, below.

In a statement, Kneecap called the British government’s highly contentious terror case against them a “witch hunt,” adding, “With every show fully sold out this is news we are sad to deliver. But once we win our court case, which we will, we promise to embark on an even bigger tour to all you great heads.” They said they would “be sharing something very special for U.S. fans next week” that would allow them to “link in with you all in October.” They concluded by quoting Gil Scott-Heron: “‘The revolution will be no re-run, brothers/The revolution will be live.’”

Last month, Kneecap’s show at Sziget Festival in Budapest was canceled after Hungary’s far-right government banned them from entering the country. The band has continued to speak out in solidarity with Palestine and Gaza as Mo Chara awaits his September 25 court date on a charge related to his alleged display of a Hezbollah flag at a 2024 concert. (Kneecap have since said they do not support Hezbollah or Hamas.) Chara was granted unconditional bail at a court appearance last month.
