The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) released the WBJEE 2025 results and top ten merit list on Thursday, August 22.
At the top of the merit list stands Aniruddha Chakrabarti from Don Bosco School, Park Circus (CISCE). He is followed by Samyajyoti Biswas of Kalyani Central Model School (CBSE) and Dishaanth Basu of Delhi Public School, Ruby Park, Kolkata (CBSE), who secured second and third positions respectively.
This year’s exam drew lakhs of candidates from across the country, reflecting the growing competition for engineering and technology seats in the state.
The list also features students from across education boards.
Out of the ten top-ranked candidates, six belong to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), two to the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE), and two to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE).
The presence of candidates from varied boards highlights the wide reach of the examination.

Rank 8: Archisman Nandy – DAV, Model School, Kharagpur (CBSE)
Rank 9: Pratik Dhanuka – Delhi Public School, Rajarhat (CISCE)
Rank 10: Arka Banerjee – Burdwan Municipal High School (WBCHSE)
The results carry weight beyond individual achievement. For the state, the outcome reflects the balance between local institutions and national boards in shaping future engineers.
While WBCHSE students continue to find a place among the best, the strong representation of CBSE candidates indicates the national board’s influence in competitive examinations.
