Mexican superstar Gloria Trevi, widely hailed as The Queen of Mexican Pop, has been named the 2025 Hispanic Heritage Legend Award honoree. The recognition celebrates Trevi as “a cultural force whose voice has resonated across generations and borders,” said Hispanic Heritage Foundation president/CEO Antonio Tijerino in a statement shared with Billboard. “Her fearless artistry, record-breaking tours and unwavering advocacy embody the spirit of this recognition.”

The ceremony will take place on Sept. 4 at the Warner Theater in Washington, D.C., and will air nationally on PBS.

“I am grateful for this recognition which, more than praising me, I believe honors the audience who for many years have made my music into hits that intertwine with their own stories,” the Mexican superstar added in a statement. “To them — who break generational and social barriers at concerts where they become one voice — I dedicate this honor. I receive it together with them, with great emotion, in times when this holds immense value for all Latinos who put our hearts into everything we do.”

With numerous hits, including four No. 1 albums on Billboard‘s Top Latin Albums chart (2017’s Versus with Alejandra Guzmán, 2016’s Inmortal, 2015’s El Amor, and 2011’s Gloria) and countless other achievements, the singer has solidified her place as one of the most celebrated and influential artists in Latin music history.

Beyond her musical achievements, Trevi’s impact extends to her advocacy work. She is a tireless advocate for women’s rights, particularly those affected by domestic violence, and is committed to supporting LGBTQ+ communities and homeless children through her Ana Dalai Foundation.

Earlier this August, Rauw Alejandro was announced as the 2025 Hispanic Heritage Award honoree for Vision.

HHA’s past honorees have included Rita Moreno, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Gloria Estefan, Justice Sonia Sotomayor, Martin Sheen, Ricky Martin, Rubén Blades, Fania All-Stars, José Feliciano, Los Tigres Del Norte, Anthony Quinn, Juanes, Diego Luna, Juan Luis Guerra, Residente and more.
