Three people died in Delhi after an old three-storey building collapsed on them in central Delhi’s Daryaganj on Wednesday. Preliminary investigation indicated that at the time of the incident, some construction work was underway.

The incident occurred near Sadbhavna Park where the victims were pulled out of the debris and sent to the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital, where they were declared dead.

According to a PTI report, the victims were identified as Zubair, Gulsagar and Taufiq, who were all working at the site when the structure caved in.

In response, four fire brigade vehicles and the police reached the scene to assist with the rescue operations.

A National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team also joined the police and other civic authorities, including the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), to assist with rescue efforts.

To facilitate the rescue, heavy machinery was put to use to clear the rubble as rescuers combed through the debris. Some locals claimed that more people were buried under the debris.
