“When it comes to how she chooses her on-screen roles, Rakul says she isn’t chasing one kind of cinema, but growth. ‘There’s no formula. Sometimes it’s the director, sometimes the script, sometimes just one line in the story that speaks to me.’ It is the story that stays with people, and that is what she needs to be moved by. Admitting that she loves that her profession allows her to step into a mind that is nothing like her own,” the actress shared.
This instinctive and fluid approach to selecting scripts has helped Rakul build a diverse filmography, moving seamlessly between romance, comedy, drama, and action. The actress always seeks opportunities where she can strike a balance between commercial entertainers and content-driven stories thereby experimenting and exploring genres.
Speaking of her current work commitments, Rakul is now gearing up for some of her most ambitious projects yet. She will reprise her much-loved role in De De Pyaar De 2, a sequel that brings back the charm and chemistry of the original blockbuster, marking the return of Ajay Devgn and this time around, audiences will also see R Madhavan in a pivotal role. She is also headlining Pati Patni Aur Woh 2, a film that promises equal doses of glamour and laughter, details of which currently stay under wraps.
Adding to the buzz, Rakul has also been linked to Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, one of the most ambitious mythological epics currently in the making. The film reportedly stars Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi, and Ravie Dubey in pivotal roles.
