The incessant rains in Mumbai have put a hold on one of the most-awaited activities. The ‘Bigg Boss 19’ house was set to open its doors for the media today, ahead of the show’s launch on August 24. However, owing to the rains and flooding across several parts of the city, the JioHotstar team called off the event early on Tuesday.
“Due to heavy rains and waterlogging in the city, the Bigg Boss house tour and related activities have been put on hold for now. We regret the inconvenience. We will keep you informed on further developments, depending on the situation with the rains,” read a message from the PR team.
As per sources, outstation journalists from Delhi were deboarded on time to avoid travel hassles. Those who had already reached Mumbai were sent back to ensure they did not get stranded, given that several flights were either delayed or cancelled. The team is now working on finalising a new date to allow audiences a sneak peek into the house, an annual highlight that always stirs immense excitement and curiosity.
Apart from the ‘Bigg Boss 19 ‘media event, not many shoots have been affected in Mumbai. India Today learnt through independent sources that most shoots are continuing, albeit with extra precautions. The lane leading to Filmcity has been flooded, but cast and crew have waded through the water to keep up with their work commitments.
‘Bigg Boss 19’ will premiere on August 24 on JioHotstar at 9 pm and COLORS at 10:30 pm.
