After restocking the cheetah-print Samba that’s sold out several times this year, Adidas is looking to another corner of the animal kingdom for the low-profile sneaker.
The Adidas Samba “Snakeskin” pack arrives with two colorways for its textured upper. Available in either dark green or brown, the faux-snakeskin forms the majority of the upper. The former edition then makes use of a white tongue, collar and Three Stripes motif, while the latter goes monochrome in black. Both iterations share gold embossed branding and a gum cupsole.
Just as the “Cheetah” Samba bore a strong resemblance to Wales Bonner’s collaboration on the same model from 2023, the two snakeskin pieces also share a connection with the English label. A sample emerged in 2024 of snakeskin Wales Bonner x Adidas Sambas, although they never went on to release.
While not quite as hot as it was at its peak, the Samba still remains relevant thanks in part to these more exotic in-house variants. Its influence can also be seen widely in some of this year’s sneaker trends, as thin soles continue to dominate with Adidas models including the Gazelle, Handball Spezial, Taekwondo and more, as well as kicks from every other major brand.
The Adidas Samba “Snakeskin” pack has already begun hitting European retailers, including Afew, and is expected to land in the United States later. Pricing is set at $120.
