Pedro Pascal kept a low profile with a pair of Celine loafers during the HBO Max Emmy Nominee Celebration on Sunday in Los Angeles. “The Last of Us” actor leaned into the slim shoe trend, wearing a pair of leather, slip-on shoes from the designer’s spring 2026 collection.

Pascal was styled in a head-to-toe Celine look for the event, which he attended alongside costars Bella Ramsey and Kaitlyn Dever. The shoes are a slim loafer style with an elongated, almond toe design. The lace-up shoes feature four round, gold eyelets and one on the side along the ankle.
Pascal’s stylist, Jamie Mizrahi, shared a close-up shot of the actor’s shoe on her Instagram Story, showing a detailed look at his footwear. She paired the shoe with black socks, beige wide-leg trousers, and olive green collared shirt and an oversize blazer. Pascal and Mizrahi have been creating some much-talked-about moments together through his style choices, in particular, when he wore the Saint Laurent thigh-high boots for “The Last of Us” premiere in March.

The shoe style Pascal wore on Sunday made an appearance on the runway at the Celine spring 2026 show at Paris Fashion Week in July, which marked Michael Rider’s debut as creative director at the French house. Similar to the other shoes in the collection, the men’s loafer featured a barely there sole, leaving the shoes close to the ground, creating a ballerina flat-like effect.
From sneakers to men’s dress shoes, the slim, low profile has taken over the shoe industry as of late. Brands like Puma spearheaded the trend with the resurgence of its Speedcat sneaker, while the ballerina sneaker trend has continued to build momentum.

Ballerina flats for men have also been having a moment with brands like Dior delivering the dainty dress shoe designs, and stars like Colman Domingo and A$AP Rocky adding the shoes to their collections.
The Q2 2025 Lyst Index was released in July, and the quarterly report by the global shopping platform revealed that five flat shoes were among its 10 hottest products, reinforcing the ongoing minimalist trend in the footwear industry, signaling that Gen Z is favoring slim shoes over high heels or platforms.
