Jackson Wang, rapper and member of the K-pop group GOT7, has been hospitalised overseas after reportedly suffering from food poisoning, forcing the cancellation of a scheduled fan event.

According to Taiwanese media outlet ET Today, Wang was rushed to the emergency department shortly after midnight on August 15. His agency, Team Wang Records, confirmed the incident in an official statement, stating that the singer is currently receiving medical treatment and has been advised to rest.

The unexpected health scare led to the cancellation of the Music Korea fan signing event, originally scheduled for later that day. Team Wang expressed regret over the disruption and apologised to fans, assuring them that a new date for the event would be announced in due course. Full refunds will be issued to ticket holders.

Wang’s health update comes ahead of his upcoming global tour, ‘Magic Man 2’, which is due to kick off in Bangkok, Thailand, on October 3 and 4, 2025. The tour supports his latest album of the same name, released on July 18.

‘Magic Man 2’ serves as a direct sequel to Wang’s critically acclaimed 2022 project of the same name. Initially slated for a 2023 release, the album faced multiple delays before finally launching this summer. The 11-track record pushes artistic boundaries with genre-blending sounds and introspective themes. The release was accompanied by a music video for the track ‘Made Me a Man’.

Prior to his hospitalisation, Wang was active in international promotions, including a recent appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show, which aired on July 12.

Further updates on Jackson Wang’s recovery and upcoming tour commitments are expected in the coming days.
