An Air India flight scheduled to depart from Cochin International Airport (CIAL) to Delhi late Sunday night was forced to abort take-off due to a technical issue, prompting a change of aircraft and significant delay.

Flight AI 504, which was originally set to take off at 10:34 pm, experienced an unexpected incident during taxiing. According to initial reports, the aircraft came to an abrupt halt, causing concern among passengers on board.

Congress MP Hibi Eden, who was on the flight, posted on Facebook about the incident, stating, “Something unusual with this flight AI 504….it just felt like the flight skid on the runway….and hasn’t taken off yet….”

Another passenger described the experience as “a sudden jolt almost like a strong braking action something unpleasant and unusual.”

Air India later informed airport authorities that the aircraft had encountered a technical issue during the taxiing phase and that the take-off was aborted as a precaution. The airline confirmed that a replacement aircraft would be arranged, with the new estimated time of departure set for 01:00 AM.

CIAL has acknowledged the delay and stated that Air India is coordinating with airport operations to facilitate the aircraft change.

There have been no reports of injuries, and all passengers remained safe.
