Bengaluru Police have busted an Indian Premier League (IPL) ticket black market racket in a special operation ahead of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) match that was scheduled for Saturday at Chinnaswamy Stadium. Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the case.

Acting on a tip-off received on Friday, police launched a special operation to nab the accused. One person was initially caught in possession of 12 IPL tickets, each with a face value of Rs 1,200. His mobile phone was also seized.

Based on information obtained from the first accused, police apprehended three more individuals on Saturday near Miller’s Road. They were found with 20 IPL tickets, also worth Rs 1,200 each, Rs 1 lakh in cash and three mobile phones.

In total, police have seized 32 CSK vs RCB tickets, Rs 1 lakh in cash, and four mobile phones. The combined value of the seized items stands at Rs 1.78 lakh.

Investigations are ongoing.

This comes after the Bengaluru City Crime Branch (CCB) special team earlier arrested multiple individuals in connection with illegal cricket betting and black-market ticket sales related to Tata IPL 2025 matches held between April 2 and April 18.

As part of coordinated operations across the city, the Cubbon Park Police Station carried out two major actions. In the first, one person was arrested for illegal betting and found in possession of betting chips worth Rs 42,91,659 and bank funds amounting to Rs 31,49,654.

In a separate case, four individuals were caught selling match tickets near M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Police seized 25 IPL tickets, four mobile phones, Rs 50,000 in cash, and Rs 31,94,459 received through online transactions.
