Actor Vijay Deverakonda marked Independence Day by representing India at the India Day parade in New York City. Dressed in an orange kurta and white pyjamas, the actor was seen greeting fans in videos shared widely on X.
Deverakonda also attended the flag-hoisting ceremony at Times Square, where the Indian tricolour was unfurled in the presence of the Consulate General and the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) Chairman.

In a brief address, he expressed pride at seeing the national flag soar above one of the world’s most iconic locations, and praised the strength of the Indian diaspora.
In another clip, the actor appeared in an all-black ensemble as he joined India’s largest Independence Day parade in New York, conveying his wishes with a simple yet heartfelt, “Happy Independence Day, India.”
