Petr Cech revealed that he and wife, Martina Cechova are parting ways after being together for 26 years. This news came out as a shock to everyone.

On August 15, 2025, former goalkeeper, Petr Cech took to his Instagram handle to share a heartfelt and emotional statement, in which he mentioned about the separation from his wife, Martina Cechova. The duo had stayed together for 26 years, and this announcement broke a lot of hearts online. His official statement received a lot of support from fellow athletes and many even praised the respectful tone of his message. On Instagram, Petr has shared a black and white photo of Martina kissing his cheeks and he wrote:
“Martina and myself are sad to announce that we are separating after 26 years together. We remain best of friends and immensely proud of our two beautiful children.”

Petr Cech and Martina Cechova’s magical love story began before Petr became a household name with his game. The duo first met as teenagers in 1999, during their high school years. They dated for a few years before tying the knot in June 2003. Through the lows and highs of Petr’s career, Martina stood beside him as his biggest supporter.
Over the years, Petr and Martina built a beautiful and loving family together. They welcomed their daughter, Adela in 2008, and in 2009, they welcomed a son, Damian. After Adela’s birth, Petr had spoken to PEOPLE magazine and mentioned that, while he was extremely happy about having a child, he was sad as he missed her birth. He said:
“It was the best day of my life and at the same time the saddest. I was happy to be a father and proud of my wife, but sad to have missed the birth. My daughter decided she would come in the middle of the night without me being able to do anything, so I had to wait glued to the phone.”

Their son, Damian, signed his first professional contract with Fulham FC and also earned a spot in the Czech Republic Under-18 national team. “I didn’t push my children into football, but they found it anyway. They just live with my name, so they have been the target of comparison since they were young.”
