Kannada actress, Pavithra Gowda, got arrested recently after the Supreme Court cancelled the bail granted to the actress and her rumoured boyfriend and actor Darshan Thoogudeepa. The other accused were also not pardoned in the murder case of Renukaswamy. Pavitra’s rumoured love interest, South actor, Darshan, was reportedly taken from the Hosakerehalli residence and then taken into custody via the back gate. Both are the prime accused in the case.
Well, a bench of Justices J B Pardiwala and R Mahadevan at the Karnataka High Court stated that the accused needs to be taken into custody, stating infirmities. The bench did observe that the trial needed to be conducted with speed, and there was no legal reason to grant bail. Pavithra is a Kannada actress who is in the soup for allegedly torturing her fan, Renukaswamy, in a shed located in Bengaluru for three days back in June 2024. He was then found in a drain. Pavithra has worked both in movies and on TV. She was seen in Chatrigalu Saar Chatrigalu, Agamya and Preethi Kithabu. In 2016, the actress made her debut in movies with the film, 54321. Her Instagram handle reads that she is a model, fashion designer and an entrepreneur. Pavithra is also the founder of Red Carpet Studio 777, whose specialisation is in luxury couture, bridal lehengas, and Indo Western outfits. Her bio reads:

The court did observe that the liberty given to Darshan at one end was a risk of derailing the administration of justice. The actress is best known for her significant contributions to the Sandalwood industry. Alongside, she has also carved her niche as a model. Pavithra, a key accused in the case a while back, took to her Instagram Stories to share a quote that spoke of trusting God even when waiting was the answer. Sharing the note she penned:
“Some delays are divine protection. I choose patience. I choose faith.”
Pavithra Gowda’s illicit romance with Darshan surfaced via pictures
Darshan reportedly had a toxic relationship with his wife, Vijayalakshmi, since 2011, and from 2015, he reportedly got into a relationship with Pavithra. For years, their closeness grew, and according to a Reddit report, both of them were in a live-in relationship. In 2024, cops searched Darshan and Pavithra’s phones, revealing their cosy pictures. The snaps that went viral showed both of them in close proximity, embracing one another with a lot of love and warmth.
When Darshan’s lawyer denied claims of Pavithra being his second wife
Darshan had earlier, in a media statement, claimed not to be married to Pavithra but agreed to be in a live-in relationship with the actress. Even Darshan’s lawyer in the past, in an interview with India Today, claimed that both of them were just friends. Lawyer, Anil Babu denied reports that alleged that the actress was the second wife of Darshan and shared that Vijayalakshmi was the legally wedded wife. In his words:
“Pavithra Gowda being the second wife, that is utterly false. She is just a friend. They used to be co-stars and now they have a friendly relationship, nothing else. The only wife (of Darshan) is the first wife, Vijayalakshmi. No second marriage happened at any point of time.”

Pavithra shocked her sea of fans in January 2025 when she posted an array of snaps in a reel form, celebrating 10 years of their relationship. The first snap reportedly showed both of them from what looked like a marriage ritual, and the caption read:
