Reports from TMZ and other outlets have revealed that an unresolved feud between Brooklyn Beckham, his wife Nicola Peltz, and the Beckham family is the cause behind their family feud, and recently, some shocking claims by Nicola’s friend have once again reignited the controversy.
Nicola Peltz’s friend claims Beckhams planted fake news against her
Just a few days ago, Nicola Peltz renewed her vows with Brooklyn Beckham in a private ceremony, and soon her close friend, Rebecca Faria, made a shocking Instagram comment defending the actress. According to TMZ, Rebecca accused the Beckham family of being ‘toxic’ as they tried to manipulate the media narrative about their family drama. Hinting at how Nicola’s decision to maintain distance with the Beckham family was justified, she penned:
“I love seeing people who spend years in therapy over toxic family ties coming here and judging someone who actually had the guts to walk away.”
Rebecca further claimed that when the Beckham family realised that they couldn’t control Nicola, who is not interested in their fame or fortune, they tried to use the media against her. She mentioned that people always supported the Beckhams, and when they could not control Nicola, they purposely planted fake stories to show Nicola in a bad light and tarnish her image. According to Rebecca, Nicole is a genuine and humble person, while Brooklyn realised the environment he grew up in and himself chose to maintain distance. Describing the situation, Rebecca wrote:
“Everyone’s been kissing the Beckhams’ a** forever, and Nicola was the first to stand up for her values since [she] couldn’t care less about their fame or money! The moment they couldn’t control everything, they lost it and started planting fake press to make her look bad in the public eye.”
What led to the clash between the Beckhams, Brooklyn and Nicola?
The popular family feud between the Beckhams, Brooklyn and Nicola goes back to the latter’s wedding day when their first dance was supposed to be romantic. However, Marc Anthony, who was set to perform for the couple, unexpectedly called out Victoria’s name instead of Nicola’s. As per the same outlet and The Sun, the witnesses shared that when Victoria joined Brooklyn on the dance floor, Nicola went inside in tears. Sources claimed Nicola believed the move was deliberate and inappropriate, to overshadow a moment meant for her and Brooklyn. Since then, tensions have reportedly only worsened. According to insiders, David and Victoria believe Nicola is overly controlling and has driven a wedge between Brooklyn and his family.
Meanwhile, Nicola’s supporters argue she’s simply protective of her husband and doesn’t appreciate the way his parents treat him. There is also a difference in their financial views as Nicola hails from a billionaire family who lead a more lavish lifestyle. At the same time, the Beckhams prefer hard work and value for money. The divide was easily visible after Brooklyn and Nicola skipped Victoria’s 50th birthday and David’s milestone 50th. The former even unfollowed his brothers on social media, signalling the chill is far from over.
