‘Gabby’s Dollhouse’ Is Bringing a Cat-Tastic Wonderland to Experiential Toy Store Camp This Fall (Exclusive)

Ahead of Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie, a meow-mazing immersive experience is coming to Gabby Cats soon.

The hit DreamWorks Animation series’ cat-tastic world will take over toy retailer Camp in Los Angeles at Westfield Century City and at its soon-to-open store in Southpark Mall in Charlotte, N.C., on Sept. 26, the same day the film premieres in theaters. Designed by RWS Global, Gabby’s Dollhouse x Camp will transform each store’s 5,000-square-foot “secret” space into a wonderland with Gabby’s bedroom, Cakey’s colorful kitchen, Kitty Fairy’s Fairytale Garden, MerCat’s bathroom, DJ Catnip’s dance party and more.

Of course, guests will have a craft-tastic job to do: Gabby will need their help dreaming up “the ultimate Friendship Purrr-ty” through activities such as cookie decorating and mixing up magic potions. Camp will also offer new toys, gifts and other show-inspired merchandise.

Camp’s immersive pop-ups will follow Gabby’s Dollhouse Live!, a new live stage show that kicks off on Sept. 19 in Long Beach, Calif., before making stops in over 75 cities across North America.

Laila Lockhart Kraner will reprise her role as Gabby, while Kristen Wiig stars as a villainous cat lady in Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie, which debuts in theaters on Sept. 26. Per the logline, the film follows the tween as she goes on a road trip with her Grandma Gigi to the urban wonderland of Cat Francisco. But when Gabby’s dollhouse, her most prized possession, ends up in the hands of an eccentric cat lady named Vera, Gabby sets off on an adventure through the real world to get the Gabby Cats back together and save the dollhouse before it’s too late.

The live-action/CGI series recently launched its first game, “Gabby’s Dollhouse A-Meow-Zing Moves,” on Nex Playground‘s active play gaming system. Gabby’s Dollhouse already boasts an expansive range of products, including chapter and activity books, Lego sets, kids’ backpacks, mini figurine sets and more available at Amazon, Walmart and other retailers.

In March, THR exclusively revealed new toys tied to Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie, including an interactive edition of Gabby’s charming house featuring LCD “eyes” and games, a Pandy Paws plush that interacts with a cat ears headband, Scholastic books and more.

Now in its 11th season and streaming on Netflix, Gabby’s Dollhouse is among the top 10 most-watched TV shows on Netflix in 57 countries. Blue’s Clues veterans Tracie Paige Johnson and Jennifer Twomey are behind the DreamWorks Animation series, which stars Kraner as a 12-year-old who, after unboxing items, uses the power of her magical cat ears to shrink down into an animated version of herself to go on miniature adventures with her kitty pals, called the Gabby Cats. THR partnered with the DreamWorks Animation title for its inaugural Kids Power event in 2023.
