A young woman in Bhopal died in a road accident on Monday, who was just a month away from her wedding. The victim, Dr Ayesha Khan, was returning home from her internship at JP Hospital when a speeding bus ran over her at the Banganga intersection, leading to her death on the spot.

According to her family, Ayesha’s Nikah was scheduled for June 14. Ayesha’s parents were out distributing wedding cards on Monday morning when they received the news of the accident. Upon reaching Hamidia Hospital, they were devastated to learn about their daughter’s demise. Ayesha’s father is a bank manager.

Ayesha was filled with excitement about the upcoming celebrations and had distributed her wedding invitations to friends and colleagues. She had been shopping with her mother for the past few days and all arrangements — from the marriage garden to the catering — had already been booked.
