US Vice President JD Vance accused the Biden administration of withholding Jeffrey Epstein–related files due to the financier’s ties with Democrats. On Fox News’s Sunday Morning Futures, he said “We know that Jeffrey Epstein had a lot of connections with leftwing politicians and leftwing billionaires. Democrat billionaires and Democrat political leaders went to Epstein island all the time. Who knows what they did.” Vance added, “I laugh at the Democrats who are now, all of a sudden, so interested in the Epstein files. For four years, Joe Biden and the Democrats did absolutely nothing about this story.”
He claimed, “Now President Trump has demanded full transparency from this, and yet, somehow, the Democrats are attacking him and not the Biden administration.”
POLITICAL PRESSURE MOUNTS OVER FILE RELEASES
The Epstein scandal continues to stir controversy for the Trump administration, with growing demands to release files that President Trump had promised during his campaign. Attorney General Pam Bondi has urged the release of grand jury testimonies from Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
Reportedly, the Department of Justice informed Trump in May that his name appeared multiple times in the documents, and Senator Dick Durbin claimed Bondi pushed FBI agents to flag mentions of the president.
Vance defended the administration and said “The president has been very clear. We’re not shielding anything.” House Oversight Chair James Comer has issued subpoenas to the DOJ and highprofile figures, including Bill and Hillary Clinton, pursuing the matter further. A House subcommittee also voted bipartisanship style to subpoena all Epsteinrelated materials. Meanwhile, though Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche met with Maxwell twice, neither an audio recording nor a transcript has been released.
