Actor Ashutosh Rana, known for his powerful screen presence and thoughtful perspectives, recently shared a piece of advice for the younger generation of actors who prioritise fame over honing their craft. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama as part of the promotions for his latest film Heer Express, Rana reflected on the difference between being “famous” (prashiddh) and being “accomplished” (siddh).

“There is something called being famous and something called being accomplished,” Rana said. “If you add ‘pra’ to siddh, you get prashiddh (famous), but to truly be accomplished, you have to remove that ‘pra.’ Fame and accomplishment are not the same thing. Visibility will get you known among people, but it is up to you to decide how you want to be remembered. That choice is entirely yours.”

Using vivid metaphors, the actor explained how one’s expression reveals their essence. “A lion roars, an elephant trumpets, a dog barks, and a human speaks. From the sound someone makes, we can gauge their personality. So it’s on you to decide whether you want to be accomplished or merely famous.”

Rana further reflected on the larger purpose of an artist’s journey. “In life, this race we all seem to be running is because we have entered this world with the desire to make our existence unforgettable—so that we are always remembered. Even after we are gone, we wish for our thoughts to live on in the minds of people. If we leave behind some good contributions, we will not only shape ourselves but also influence and build the part of the world that falls within our reach.”

Heer Express, directed by Umesh Shukla, marks the debut of Divita Juneja in the lead role and was released on August 8, 2025.
