The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Uttar Pradesh Police has uncovered critical information from the mobile phones of Dr Osama Maj Sheikh and Ajmal Ali, arrested from Thane, Maharashtra. The two were allegedly linked to the Pakistan-based terror outfit Reviving Islam.

According to officials, the ATS is decoding messages exchanged on a social media messaging group, which included instructions from Pakistani numbers on making improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The chats also featured videos promoting Ghazwa-e-Hind and violent jihad, along with references to the notorious Thatta terror training camp — the same facility where 26/11 attacker Ajmal Kasab was trained.

Investigations have revealed that several Indian youths were in contact with Pakistani handlers through the group. Chats on Osama’s Signal app showed he was instructed to visit Hyderabad, Agra, and Ahmedabad. He reportedly travelled to Hyderabad and Agra multiple times.

The suspects were also asked to circulate provocative videos shared on both WhatsApp and Signal platforms.
